The International Youth Camp

The International Youth Camp” was held at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus (RMUTI) in Sakon Nakhon Province, Thailand from July19th to July 25th, 2015. The representatives of University of Foreign Language Studies, The University of Danang joining the camp were two lecturers and four students from Department of International Studies and four students from Department of Japanese – Korean – Thai. Also there were more than 100 representatives from GMS countries including Laos PDR, Cambodia, Myanmar and the host – Thailand.

To be the host of the camp, RMUTI’s lecturers, staff and students gave a warm welcome to all the participants from the very first day. With the enthusiastic guide from the RMUTI’s lecturers and students, the participants actively took part in exciting activities to explore Thai culture and customs such as learning traditional Thai dances and songs, cooking traditional Thai food, practicing Thai greeting styles. Included in the camp activity schedule, the participants had an interesting one-day field trip to some tourist attractions such as the ancient temple, dinosaur museum and Puparn Royal Development Study Center.

Not only did the participants have chances to learn Thai culture but they also introduced their traditional culture to international friends during the camp through a variety of activities like folk tales, folk games and traditional art performances.

In the evening of July 24th, 2015 the camp ended with the farewell party and the ASEAN’s Got Talent competition. At the party, the representatives from University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Da Nang gave presents to the representatives of RMUTI to express special thanks for organizing such an interesting camp. This camp was considered as one of many important means of channels to build up and develop the potential academic cooperation, good relationships, and network among the GMS countries.
